Pia Renate Haraldsen Eliminated
Poker isn't a game blessed by the aesthetically pleasing, so it is with great woe that we report the demise of Pia Renate Haraldsen. Having been whittled down to a paltry 875, the political editor pushed all in under-the-gun, thus creating a sidepot that was battled out between Roger Skjelbakken and one other player.
With the board reading 9s-Ks-8c-5h-Jc, it was Skjelbakken who took the bull by the horns, his bet on the river scaring his opponent away and leaving him to tackle Haraldsen alone. As Skjelbakken revealed Js-9h for two pair, Haraldsen could only table Ad-7c, thereby allowing Skjelbakken to scoop both pots with two pair. Consequently, Haraldsen was out.
