Jakob's Ladder Breaks
Jakob Andersson must have been delighted to get his whole stack in on a 3♠ J♥ J♠ board with A♥ J♦ against Audunn Blondal's Q♦ Q♥ but fate proved a cruel and fickle mistress. Or for me, it was like watching Newcastle United, seemingly in control but just waiting for moment when we get shot in the foot right at the death. For Andersson, it wasn't to be a fairy-tale like that of his namesake Hans Christian, but more like something from the Brothers Grimm as the river proved to be just that. After a blank 9♥ turn, the Q♣ then appeared on the end and everyone groaned at the table in realisation at the painful 2-outer.
