Kristian Aksnes wins the Betsson Estoril LIVE (€113,900)

It's been a long, but rewarding week, and one in which 339 gave us blood and guts in order to win the first ever Bettson Estoril LIVE. But in the end, only one man could reign supreme, and that plucky survivor was economics student Kristian Aksnes of Norway.

In what was a dogged final table in which any of the final nine players could have snatched gold, it was the two chip leaders from the end of day one who reached the heads-up encounter, with 20-year old poker professional Andre Santos the penultimate man standing. But, after a brief battle, Aksnes finally triumphed over the hometown hero to lap up the €113,900 in prize money and the coveted title.

Congratulations to Aksnes who is sure to be the envy of all his friends, and the focus of many a girls' attention back in Norway. Finally, a big thank you to the Casino Estoril for hosting a smashing event, as well as tournament sponsors and organisers Betsson who undeniably excelled in what I believe is their first outing onto the live tournament scene.

So, from Homer and myself, stick a fork in us... we're done.

I can see videocameras in the backgroud. Will the final table be aired on tv?
